Professional Background

I am a clinical psychologist working in private practice and a Clin. Psych. PhD candidate at the University of Tasmania, Australia. I have practiced in the area of correctional psychology since 1995 and have held both practice and policy related roles in the area of domestic violence intervention since 2006.

I presented two posters at the 8th World Congress on Cognitive and Behavioural Therapies titled: “Best practice methods in the treatment of female perpetrators of Intimate Partner Violence (IPV): Treatment Provider Perspectives” and “Treatment needs of female perpetrators of Domestic Violence: What do we know”.

I recently had a paper accepted for publication in Psychiatry, Psychology, and Law titled: “Psychological Assessment of Intimate Partner Violence”.

Services or Research Projects

Services Provided:

Individual psychotherapy
Substance abuse counseling

I am particularly interested in developing evidence based treatment for female perpetrators of intimate partner violence and this is the overall goal of my PhD.

I am currently seeking treatment providers views on the treatment needs of female perpetrators and what constitutes best practice in this area, to inform the development of an intervention program for female perpetrators fit for the Australian context, where no such programs currently exist. A link to the survey which take approximately 15 minutes to complete can be found above.
